Hi, my name is Joanne G. Apat! Welcome to my site and thank you for dropping by.
For sometime now, the World Wide Web has somewhat become my second home. It’s a world where I am comfortable in. The Internet has opened great opportunities for me, wonderful things which I thought were never possible. But of course, like anything else in life, things were never served in a silver platter for me. Whatever it is I have achieved now, I did work hard for them. And akin to anyone who’s on top, I too have my own humble beginnings.
I am the 6th child out of 10 siblings. I grew up in the company of my older brothers and sisters, and also had my share of watching over the younger ones when all the grown ups were busy. I might be the typical kid but I sure wasn’t the typical student. If many kids didn’t like school, I was the opposite. I was serious and overly diligent with my studies. Well, my efforts paid off.
But the next big step is yet to come. As I was about to complete my secondary education, I was confounded with what course to take in college. Would medicine suit me right, I thought. But the mere thought of blood was enough to send a shiver down my spine, in addition to the fact that my parents were financially incapable of sending me to medical school. So why would I waste my time brooding on something I knew wouldn’t served me right.
Then it hit me. Since I enjoyed playing with numbers, analysis and problem solving, why not took up something that could offer me the thrills, as well as developed my potentials? And so I did. Came June of 1997, I was proud to be one of the college freshmen of Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering class 2002.
College years were both fun and tedious. It wasn’t totally a smooth ride for me but the experiences were indeed worthwhile. Friends were gained, lessons were reaped, experiences had accumulated. In totality, I have become the person that I am today because of making the right decision. Computer Engineering was just the thing for me. I was right for it.
It was in college when this passion of mine truly began. Or should I say, was discovered. I was drawn to the Internet and was constantly amazed of how powerful it could be and how broad its scope was. As it became clearer and clearer to me what I really wanted to have as a career when my formal training would end, the more I was driven to learn more. So I took up a crash course on Information Technology right after college graduation.
But life has its ways. Following a dream is not smooth-sailing either. In fact, it can be really elusive. With my education and knowledge in hand, I was in the look-out for some sort of portal to bring me to where I wanted to be. But doors seemed to be closing in on me then. I decided to give it some time. So I served at a government office for a good two years. The point came when I realized how unhappy I was with my job. Something wasn’t right. I was confronted again with the desire to pursue my passion.
And few days after I resigned, the big break came. Finally. My online application was given due attention. I got hired by an American-based internet marketing company as a Data Research Assistant where I was given full responsibility to tasks like Keyword Research, Link Building, Directory Submission, Article Submission, Analyzing Traffic, other SEO and Traffic Building tasks, Website Creation, Adsense⦠among others. I was ecstatic. I’ve been in the company for more than 5 years in which during those years, I worked my way up to becoming the company manager and marketing operations team lead. It was there that I grew and honed my capabilities. I learned and I guess it’s just fair to say that I mastered my craft. But of course, there will always be room for more knowledge and lessons.
I realized that I had to start and move on, on my own. But of course with the blessings of the one company that opened the door to Internet marketing for me. The yearning to explore new horizons was just strong. I felt like it was time for me to test the waters. And so my journey began.
If I want to achieve something, then I must learn to take risks which is what I did. I came out from my comfort zone. As I did, I slowly took the steps towards the fulfillment of my dream: to be an established online entrepreneur.
Mind you, the hurdles are there. In fact, they come in all sort of packages. But they’re just what make the ride all the more exciting and challenging for me. I will not give up. I don’t intend to anyway. I have so many plans and so much hope for the future. I believe that one success leads to another. And with the realization of my dream comes a greater cause, that is to have my own scholarship program to financially assist indigent youngsters to complete their education.
To fulfill my dream is to fulfill the dreams of many. I am destined for this not for my own sake alone but for others as well. Fortunately for me, I can utilize what technology has to offer. Now, I am slowly edging my way to the top. Presently, I have my own connections and gained myself a surge of clients and potential business partners. (BIG THANKS for the trust).
I may still be a few yards from the starting line, midway or almost there, but two things certain: I’ll make things work for the betterment of everyone around and I will be of good service to those in need of it. Hope you stay with me as I continue to flip through the pages of my life and my journey, and be there to see a dream unraveled.
I will continuously update this site every now and then. Hang on and let’s all ride in this together!
Have an inspiring day everyone…
