Deadly Marketing Mistakes That Can Kill Your Online Business

Posted by Joanne G. Apat On July - 18 - 2010

Deadly-Marketing-Mistakes-That-Can-Kill-Your-Online-BusinessIf you have an online business, you will not want to make disastrous marketing mistakes that can ruin it. You should get your marketing efforts right so that your business will continually achieve success and make the sales to keep the money coming in. This article will discuss what are considered the deadly marketing mistakes that can kill your online business.

Before we proceed though, let us have a common understanding of what marketing is. Sure, we have some standard definition in textbooks. But let us, give the word more scope and depth. So our definition of marketing here is this: Marketing is every aspect of the business, and every effort done to promote a product or service.

Marketing, as we use it here, not only includes advertising efforts, but the making of the products themselves, and up to the customer services you give. The rationale is this: the quality of the product or service is probably the best promotional tool you have in your marketing arsenal. Also, the customer service part of your business will either make you or break you. With the best customer service there is, it will more than help your marketing efforts.

Now that we have defined what we mean by marketing here, let us proceed with our discussion on the marketing mistakes we should avoid:

Business Marketing Mistake #1:

Making False Claims.
This is probably the worst thing that you could do. Don’t ever make false claims about your product or service. Don’t exaggerate on the features, if in the end, it will not deliver as advertised. If you do exaggerate, this becomes deception and will not do well in the eyes of the customers. Also, those in the Internet Marketing industry will not want to do joint ventures with you due to your questionable integrity. Do not sacrifice your name and integrity for quick and easy money. It is just not worth it. You may make money quickly, but you will not have repeat customers. This will definitely kill your online business.

Business Marketing Mistake #2:

Inferior Product or Service.
If you are to launch a product for your online business, make sure it is of good quality. Better yet, it must be of excellent quality. You should brand yourself as someone who delivers quality products or services. Don’t settle for less. Successful Internet Marketers are successful because they over-deliver. They do not settle for a product that is satisfactory. They want their customers to be happy and extremely satisfied with the purchase. They want their customers to get more than the money’s value spent on it. So what happens? These customers will always look out for new products and buy from Internet Marketers that they can trust.

Business Marketing Mistake #3:

Lousy Customer Service. Be sure to have excellent customer service that you offer to your customers. There is nothing that can disappoint customers more, than a customer service support that offers no value. What you should constantly keep in mind is to over-deliver in every aspect of your business. Don’t settle for mediocrity. Strive for excellence in your business dealings every step of the way.

Avoid these deadly marketing mistakes at all cost. Understand that marketing isn’t just about promotional and advertising efforts. Other aspects of your business, as your product and customer service do act as marketing tools themselves. So be conscious about these things, and don’t let these kill your online business.

Understanding Social Media To Enhance Traffic

Posted by Joanne G. Apat On July - 13 - 2010

Understanding-Social-Media-To-Enhance-TrafficSocial Media Marketing and Social Media have become renowned for the last couple of years.  Popular sites like Digg, Twitter and Facebook are all accountable for the growing fame of social media.

The social networking sites use contents produced by users, allowing the latter to establish networks.  Facebook and MySpace allow users to create their own profiles using embellishments like pictures and videos, and texts.  The users can then share or show their profiles to their network of friends or to their social network.  Meanwhile, Flickr, Digg, and YouTube let their users tender pictures, news articles and videos respectively, while at the same time, users can vote for the contents submitted by the other people from the network.  If content is liked by many, it gets to be featured on the sites’ homepage, an act which is likely to carry on a great number of visitors to your website.

Social marketing is characterized as making use of social networking sites to promote websites, products or services.  Permitting contents to be popular in social media sites attract two primary classifications of traffic: direct or primary traffic and indirect or secondary traffic.

Primary Traffic

Primary traffic refers to the traffic that is directly generated by the site.  Take note that once your content becomes overly popular on social site such as Digg, be prepared not to crash as you may probably take in a high surge of traffic flow.

Secondary Traffic

Secondary traffic is indirectly gained from individuals who read about your website from blogs or other social media site which bear links towards your site.  This kind of traffic is bound to last longer as compared to primary traffic.

These two classifications of online traffic are both beneficial, although indifferently.  The primary traffic paves way for people to know about your site.  Later on, these visitors are likely to become regulars if you can provide them with something admirable and inviting, and as long as you regularly update your contents.  On the other hand, secondary traffic provides links from people who have been discussing about your site.  Such natural links benefit your rankings from search engines and also develop organic traffic.

Social media is a brilliant means to let people know and notice your site.  Social media marketing keeps you going especially in times of traffic humps.  Making use of such favors you with increased traffic all throughout without spending a dime.

Big Big THANKS On My 30th Birthday

Posted by Joanne G. Apat On July - 10 - 2010

THANK YOU EVERYONE for all your birthday surprises, greetings, wishes, flowers, presents and presence! :D You all made my birthday more special and happier! Many blessings to all of you too! ***hugs and kisses***

Thanks to my bestfriend, Margo and her princes, Vem-vem and Lyzter for making my day! Love you all so much!

One of the surprises I got on my 30th Birthday: "Thanks to my bestfriend, Margo and her princes, Vem-vem and Lyzter for making my day more special! Love you all so much!"

I am not yet halfway through this exhilarating journey called Life.  I have been a lot already, too much even.  But THANKS to God, to my family, to my ever supportive godmothers (Gina and Mirriam) and their families esp to Ofelia — who’s like more than a parent to me and who’d been always my confidant, advisor and the one person I always look up to, to my beautiful bestfriend/sister, Margo who’s always there for me through my life’s ups and downs and her family, to my beautiful best girlfriends, to my best male friends, to my mentors (Mrs. Sally, Anthony and Mike), to my business consultant and great friend (Mark), to my former and new staff, to my clients and business partners, to my friends and all the people around the world who’d been a part of my life for the past 30 years — I am still up and standing strong.  I’ve shed a bucket of tears already, been frustrated, been hurt, been insulted, been depressed… but what matters most is that, at the end of the day I am still whole and unscratched.  And I am proud of who I am and definitely happier, thankful and feel more so blessed to know many people love, care, believe, trust and are proud of me… You all know who you are and again THANKS HEAPS! You keep on inspiring and motivating me to continue flipping the pages of my life, to go on with my journey and to fulfill my dreams…

Sometimes, the world is cruel, and sometimes it’s not.  I just have to be always prepared to face reality, and always be thankful for everything that comes my way, no matter what it brings me, either joy or sadness. Things happen for a reason and they are teaching me something valuable.  At times, I may not fully comprehend what things and circumstances are trying to present, but I believe that they exist for a purpose, just like ME.  I am not an accident, but is here for a remarkable reason.  And I will hold on to this: I am SPECIAL.

Now at 30, I consider it as a start of another chapter in my life… a more fruitful and exciting one. The future is looking good from here. I’ll continue to dream and hope.  I know one day, the heavens will hear me… and every wonderful dream will no longer be a dream but become reality. I will always be the person you’ve known me to be or even better.  I know my flaws and I know how to get rid of them.  And I promise to keep things right.  Though there will be times doing so is difficult, but sticking to what is right has always been rewarding. I’ll continue to be strong and be independent.  Continue to believe.  Continue to dream.  It’s blissful enough to know that everyone dear to my heart loves me, and it’s a joy to tell it to the world that I love them too so much.  I will continue to enjoy life, pursue my dreams and never give up!!!

GOD bless always and CHEERS to all of you!!!

Coming up with a vision of your Internet business should be a first step.

2. Know how you will get there.

Now that you have a vision, you should lay out how you plan to get there. Work it out in phases that serve as milestones. Each completion of a phase will be a critical step nearer to your goal. You should outline in detail how each phase should look like and how you will determine when you have finally completed that phase. Establish this early on so that there will be no confusion later on.

3. Market your product or service.

After you have determined how to reach your goal, you already know whether you will market a product or service; either way, you will need to market these effectively and efficiently so that you will bring in sales. Internet business and marketing success rely o n your ability to bring in traffic to your site. Without traffic, there is no chance for you to succeed online. Bringing in traffic to your site through social networking, article marketing and PPC ads are some of the ways to do this.

4. Brand yourself right.

Even though you have lots of traffic coming in, if the perception by the visitors of your site, product or service is lousy, this will not convert into sales as well. So get this part of your business right. Employ the right branding for your business. Make your website attractive, and make it functional. Ensure it allows for ease of navigation by the visitors of your site. Of course, part of this is to brand yourself as well as an expert in your field. This will give you more credibility and will help assure your visitors that you are a person who can be trusted.

5. Delight your customers.

Lastly, you should provide your visitors and customers a pleasant buying experience. Make sure to provide support to answer to their concerns and queries. Be there to answer their questions. Give them an experience they will not forget and one that can make them say, Wow! You should continually delight your customers every step of the way. This will definitely set you apart in the industry that you are in.
